Traffic Exchange programs worth it?

Are traffic exchange programs really worth the trouble? I personally don't think so, I tried them several years back.

When you register to theses traffic exchange programs, you agree to surf on websites that will introduce you to various home business opportunities, marketing programs and promotional tools. By doing this, you win credits and you can use them to show your site(s) to other members, and hopefully convince them to join your business downline. When you refer people to sign up for the traffic exchange, you will earn a percentage of the credits they earn. However, most members are using theses programs only to be able to promote their site. They aren't paying attention about any other pages. You will receive a lot of visitors on your website, but what's the point of using this free system if nobody cares about what you have to offer? If the visitors are not there to buy something, then why bother?

Even if you don't have the money to spend for advertising, you can can create a budget on the cheap. Do link exchange, write articles all to promote your site.

Dreaming of Hawaii

Hawaii is a place that one day I would love to visit. Days on the beach, nites eating at different restaurants and experiencing the local scene. One phrase if paradise had an address, getting an Hawaii Vacation Rentals would be it.

There are some luxury places that I would love to consider staying at. Gebhart Properties owns and manages custom homes in some of the most exclusive resort locations in the Hawaiian Islands. You’ll find incomparable amenities in our outstanding Hawaii vacation homes. Luxurious and convenient features, spacious living areas, custom furnishings, and artwork not found in even the finest of hotels.

Some of the properties on their website include

One of the finest condominiums in all of Hawaii, it sleeps 6 and offers 2,576 square feet of living space. Featuring private elevator access, gourmet kitchen, an extensive collection of Hawaiian art and outstanding views of Anaeho'omalu Bay and Kileaua, this vacation rental offers all the comforts of home in a resort setting

They sound so relaxing that I want to book my trip to Hawaii now. Gebhart Properties has a lot of vacation properties listed so if you are considering going to Hawaii you should check them out.

Weddings

Weddings can be a fun and crazy time for the bride and groom. However will their day be perfect. What can you do to make sure everything goes smoothly from the cermoney to the little details like wedding favors

Here are some situations that you may not think about but may happen.

Children at your reception Set aside a place for them. Get the crew an extra hotel room and show a double feature of The Lion King and Shrek, or hire a clown or magician to come in and entertain them. With the kids out of your hair, you (and the many appreciative parents among your guests) can keep things adult

It's raining on wedding day Get a golf umbrella just in case it might rain so the bride doesn't get wet.

Drinking guest Rent a bus or a shuttle to go back and forth between the reception site and the hotel.

Wilting Flowers Chose hardy flowers for your centerpieces so they will last the day.

Hopefully you will enjoy your wedding day and not stress so much!

Wahm reveal if they have been scammed

Welcome to the qotw of the week responses.
Have you fallen victim to a work at home scam? If so, what was it and what lessons did you learn. If not, what steps do take to make sure you have a legit opportunity

Jersey girl shares her ways to avoid a scam.

Frugal Mom reflects on some ways in the 1990s that she was scammed and duped by the dreams of working at home.

Here are some common scams
Pyramid Schemes - A pyramid scheme grants anyone membership for a fee, without giving something back of equal value. Not to be confused with multi-level marketing, which requires the sale of products or services from their members.

Chain Letters - A pyramid scheme. Illegal and they don't work.

Easy Work and High Pay -Beware of anyone that promises you lots of money for little effort. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it!

Envelope Stuffing - Legal prosecution for participants becoming more common.

Craft Assembly - It's very hard to build a craft which meets their "standards".

Medical Billing - Cost thousands to start and it's very difficult to find clients. The medical community trusts only a few mega corporations for billing their patients.

Here a good resource if you are looking for telecommuting or work at home jobs

Jill’s takes an inward look at how success is defined.

Moms Cafe looks at a proud Mommy moment that made her feel more successful than her many years in the corporate world.

Connie of Katie Hugs shares her definition of success as well she encourages work at home parents to ask themselves to ponder the question before they make the leap to have a home business.

Topics, Tips and Tangents reflects on a seemingly complicated question with a simple answer.

Patti shares that there is no right or wrong answer on what is success. People will have great differences and reflections on the the definition.

Moms Making Money Online has some to the realization that she shouldn't compare herself to others. One success lesson that I am currently learning is that I cannot measure myself against other people's standards; as women, I believe that it is so easy to constantly fall into the "compare" game; I have been doing it for years, and have recently realized that "I will never be successful, happy, or fulfilled if I keep watching what my peers are doing and comparing myself to them."

BikerMomma shares The short answer is: Happiness. If I'm happy, if the people around me are happy, then we've succeeded in whatever we've set out to accomplish. The long answer is - well - longer....

Shopping for car insurance

I beleive being a smart consumer and knowing your prices is one of the most important things a family can do to save money.

One way to to comparsion shop for car insurance. Free auto insurance quotes is a good resource to quickly find auto insurance rates in all 50 states.

There was also some good information on how to deal with car theifts (or prevent them from coming after your car) from GEICO and the National Insurance Crime Bureau's.

1) Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even while driving. Close all windows and sunroofs, no matter how hot it is.

2) Never leave your keys in the car.

3) If possible, park in busy, well-lit areas. Thieves prefer to work in the dark. Leave your car in park or in gear with the wheels turned toward the curb or some other obstruction, so thieves won't be able to tow it easily.

4) Avoid leaving valuables inside your vehicle where passersby can see them.

5) Install an anti-theft system in your vehicle if it doesn't have one. A mechanism that locks onto the steering wheel can be a very visible sign that you've taken steps to protect your vehicle. Ignition cut-off systems prevent a car from being started. Some new cars come with passive alarms that activate automatically when the key is removed from the ignition. One system emits a signal that can be tracked by the police. Thieves are reluctant to steal vehicles that can be tracked and recovered quickly. Many insurers offer discounts for these types of systems.

6) Beware of the "bump-and-rob" technique. Carjackers bump your car from the rear, then steal it when you get out to look for damage. When stopped at a traffic light, leave room to maneuver around the vehicle ahead if you need to. If another car bumps yours and you feel threatened, drive to a populated area. If you have a cell phone, call the police for assistance.

7) Do not leave registration or title in the car. Too often a car thief is pulled over and gets away from the police because he or she can produce the auto registration. If multiple drivers use the vehicle, the best suggestion would be to hide the registration in a secret location that only the owners know.

8) Look around. Be aware of your surroundings, especially in garages, parking lots and gas stations.

9) Know where you're going. Avoid known high-crime areas even if the alternate route takes a little longer.

10) If confronted by a carjacker, do not resist. Cars can be replaced; you can't.

11) Have your car's vehicle identification number (VIN) etched on each of the windows. Car thieves want to get off cheap. They don't want to go to the expense of replacing all the glass.

Shopping for Father's Day Gifts

June is a busy month when graduations, weddings and of course Father's Day occur.

Father's Day is a wonderful day to offically honor our Dads. It was started in 1909 when Sonora Dodd, of Washington, first had the idea of a "father's day." She thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon. She had a very special day William Smart who was Civil War Veteran as a well as widowed Dad. He had to raise six children and including an infant.

All Dad are specials however many can be difficult to buy for. Gift baskets are a good choice for fathers day gifts. You can get with a theme for a golfer, griller, the fisherman and many other ideas. You can also get food theme ones filled with chocolate, nuts, wines and cheeses. Gifts Baskets can be personalized to show Dad how much you care.

Amber shares what tools she used both online and offline to build her Shaklee home business.

Frugal Momma shares an expensive mistake as well gives some of best free resources for learning about internet marketing.

A Girl Gotta Spa shares the following

For my Country Bunny Bath & Body business I have bought a variety of items
from Vista Print. They always have some great deals each month. I've
ordered business cards, business card magnets, notecards that I design
with my rep. logo and glossy postcards. I've been able to get them all for
free and only had to pay for shipping. Directly from Country Bunny I buy
samples, catalogs, opportunity brochures and direct mailers. I also buy
advertising on websites and blogs.

I've also created an account with Constant Contact for my monthly
newsletter. The first 90 days were free and then it is $15 a month. I am
able to upload photos, create links, use different templates, see which
customers open the newsletter and where they are clicking. It's a
fantastic tool and definitely worth the money.

For my blogs, I have signed up with affiliates that would be appropriate
for my readership. I have also signed up with various advertising programs
to implement on my blogs. My spa blog is more business-like with articles
regarding skin care and beauty, as well as, product reviews and answering
readers questions. The past few months have shown an increase in readers
buying Country Bunny products due to my blog.

To learn for free I often go to Problogger.com and Lip-Sticking.com. I am
also part of some Ryze networks that offer tips on marketing.

Biker Momma blog mentioned on TV

I'm just tickled pink this morning! My blog was featured (for all of 30 seconds, but I'm not complaining ) on Toronto's big morning show, Breakfast Television! They had asked people to submit their blogs, so I did. They picked three or four out of all the submissions they received and showed our blogs up on their screens. The others were mostly pictures, but they actually read from one of my entries because one of the hosts had ranted about the same topic a few days ago. Anyhow, I was just so thrilled, I had to share

Pinging your blog

Pingoat is a service that pings or notifies a number of services that keep track of weblogs and publish them. By pinging, you let the services know that your blog has been updated and hence, they crawl and index your site, publishing your blog contents, thus increasing your blog's popularity.

A 'Ping' is a basic Internet program that lets you verify that a particular Internet address exists and can accept requests. The verb ping means the act of using the ping utility or command.

Pinging in the blog world means different, but still similar. There are certain services that scans blog regulary for updates and publishes the recently updated blogs (for an example). So once you've updated your blog, you should let such a service know that you have your blog has peen updated. for this, you send a PING to the service. Most of the blog software have the ability to ping on their own. But pinging a dozen such services could be time consuming.

A blog ping is just a piece of text, in simple words. It'll contain your blog name and the url. It is usually prepared in the XML format. The servers that accept ping have special programs for accepting and processing these 'XML pings'.
